We analyze and understand the biological characteristics of cancer cells at the molecular, cellular, and animal levels, and conduct research on cancer diagnosis and treatment methods. In recent years, we are working on the research and development of new cancer-targeted medicine using theranostics technology that enables simultaneous diagnosis and treatment of cancer by a drug delivery system using nanoparticles. Also, we are working on basic research of a therapeutic method that selectively kills only cancer cells by apoptotic cell death by a photodynamic technology using 5-aminolevulinic acid.
