Autonomic nervous system is an endogenous controller of any organs and plays an essential role in maintaining human health. Conversely, unreasonable work of autonomic nervous system is closely involved in various refractory diseases. By using interdisciplinary cutting-edge research technology, we are studying that autonomic nervous system consists of wider variety of cells/neural circuits than previously believed and has surprising hidden functions. We are also studying unexpected interplays between neural system and immune allergy/cancers, with reconstructing a new concept of autonomic nervous system and with aim of realizing advanced medical treatments.
