The extracellular matrix (ECM) plays a central role of the extracellular environment. The ECM is created and degraded by the cells themselves not only to maintain normal body functions but also to dynamically change during development and tissue repair. Our goal is to establish the new strategy for the treatment of diseases and tissue regeneration methods through elucidation of underlying mechanisms related to ECM. We are also working on the perineuronal net, whose function has been unknown.
