Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

In the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Okayama University (OUOMS), we develop new oral and maxillofacial surgery using navigation system and endoscope. We also conduct clinical research with data science about prediction of metastasis of oral cancer using AI, and 3D analysis of jaw deformity. We are also conducting molecular and cell biological research such as elucidating the mechanism of invasion and metastasis of oral cancer and searching for new biomarkers. In order to achieve SDGs, we are also actively conducting continuous education for dentists who contribute to the early detection of oral cancer.
