Oral Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine
Professor: KUBOKI Takuo
The aims of our department are to comprehensively study oral implant treatment and related plastic surgery, regenerative medicine and digital technology, and to actively apply new technologies to clinical practice. We develop biomaterials necessary for those aims, apply regenerative medicine, and conduct clinical research. For example, we are studying tooth regeneration as an organ, bone (bone marrow) regeneration using rhBMP-2, regeneration of attached gingiva, periodontal ligament, and dentin, and immunotolerance mechanism induced by mesenchymal stem cells. In addition, we are energetically working on medical and dental collaboration in osteoporosis, dementia, temporomandibular joint disorders / orofacial pain, sleep apnea syndrome, and oral nutritional care services to prevent prosthetic devices to be harmful in nursing/home care field.
