Inflammation is a biological defense system to recognize and eliminate external and internal pathogens. However, excessive inflammation can be fatal to the host. Smoldering chronic inflammation causes and promotes autoimmune diseases, allergy, metabolic syndrome, neurological disorders, and cancer. Our goal is to establish the new strategy for the treatment of diseases through elucidation of the molecular basis of inflammation.
