Structural Biology

We address the mechanism of sensing by structural and functional analyses of sensory receptors, such as taste receptors, and relating proteins. We also proceed with structural and functional studies on membrane proteins and signal transduction proteins that are targets for drug discovery. Simultaneously, we develop methodologies to promote sample preparation and functional analysis, which are bottlenecks in these analyses. Furthermore, we design and generate “synthetic binding proteins” that are used in various researches including the above issues.
