Synthetic Organic and Medicinal Chemistry

Professor: Takehiko Yoshimitsu

Research in our group focuses on two main areas of organic chemistry: 1) the development of new synthetic methodology and strategy that enable efficient access to various organic molecules with dense functionalities: 2) the chemical total synthesis of structurally complex bioactive natural products that serve as invaluable medicinal resources. We have also been undertaking interdisciplinary collaborations with other research groups to develop new medicinal leads from chemically-synthesized natural products and their derivatives for future drug discovery.
