Admissions for Doctoral Course

 

 

  • Aspire to perform innovative, interdisciplinary, and international research in the field of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceuticals;
  • Aspire to work in cutting-edge and holistic medical care;
  • Aspire to conduct research while playing an active role as a working professional with a medical background; and
  • Possess a medical qualification following the completion of a six-year medical, dentistry or pharmaceutical course, or have acquired the knowledge, skills, and attitude appropriate as a Master’s Course graduate in a related field of study.

  • More than 90% of the students are working professionals.
  • You can select from multiple programs depending on your specialty.
  • Some lectures are provided through e-learning. You can attend such lectures anywhere you like in your spare time during your training.
  • If you fulfill certain requirements, you can complete your program early in three years or three and a half years.
  • A long-term registration system is also available.

At Okayama University, we provide study support through admission fee and tuition fee exemption (university-specific system) and scholarships (Japan Student Services Organization, Ohmoto Ikueikai Salary Scholarship, etc.).

For more information, please refer to Okayama University’s website and check the latest information.

For those who are recognized as falling under the following 1. Eligibility for Admission Fee Exemption or 2. Eligibility for Payment Postponement, the university offers a system of exemption of all or half of the admission fee (JPY 282,000) within the limits of the budget upon screening based on the application of the applicant. Students who wish to apply for the exemption should apply according to the following instructions.

For those who have suffered damage to their homes due to severe disasters such as the torrential rains of July 2018, please consult us on the period and place of submission of application documents.

  1. Eligibility for Admission Fee Exemption
    Students who fall into one of the following categories 1) to 3) and are recognized to have extreme difficulty in paying the admission fee are eligible to apply for the exemption.                                                          

    1. Those who are recognized as having financial difficulties and excellent academic performance.
    2. In the event of the death of the person who is primarily responsible for the financial support of the student (hereinafter referred to as the “financial supporter”), or in the event of financial difficulties of the student or his/her financial supporter who has suffered a severe disaster such as fire, wind, or flood, etc. within one year prior to enrollment.
    3. Those who have suffered damage to their homes due to a severe disaster such as the torrential rains of July, 2018.
  2. Eligibility for Payment Postponement
    In the event of difficulty in paying the admission fee by the due date due to the reasons in 1) or 2) above, the applicant is eligible to apply for payment postponement. (Even if the postponement is approved, the admission fee will not be reduced or exempted.)
  3. Notes
    Those who have completed payment of the admission fee are not eligible to apply for the exemption (or payment postponement).

    4. Those who have suffered sudden financial changes due to the effects of the novel coronavirus infection during the period from April 2021 to the present (Subject to some specific conditions.)
  2. Notes
    1. Those who have applied for the tuition fee exemption are permitted to postpone the payment until the screening result is decided. Applicants who have been rejected for the exemption or half exemption must pay the fee no later than the date specified by the university.
    2. If students (regular students only) who have difficulty in paying tuition fee due to the influence of the COVID-19 meet the condition as follows, they are eligible to apply for tuition fee exemption as the extra application. Click here for more details.
